Louis Arthur Watres (April 21, 1851 – June 28, 1937) was the fifth Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania from 1891 to 1895. ==Life== Watres was born in Blakely, Pennsylvania, the son of the founder of the first church in the Lackawanna Valley. In 1871, he was admitted to the county bar as an attorney. From 1881 through 1890, he served as the solicitor for Lackawanna County government. He also was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1877 through 1891, working as rifle instructor during his final four years of service. In 1882, Watres was elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate, serving two terms until his ascent to the lieutenant governorship.
